Artist statement

My artist research evolves in two distinctive and complementary directions.

The primary aspect is the search and the chromatic study of the materials used in the development of the mixed techniques used in making the “papers”. The papers are obtained through a constant layering of matter and colour in order to form a “reading skin” where erosions, lacerations and tears bring to light the innate and primitive form of thought; an ideal form of human writing antecedent to the creation of the language. This research is not addressed to the mere imitation of Nature but rather to the nurturing process that she generates.

This information and sensations often leads to the necessity of further development into the research of the third dimension. From here prehistoric monolithic forms take shape, forms obtained from vitrified clays at a high temperature where Matter is alchemically changed trough fire.
